Fresh ginger makes a warming, aromatic drink. Honey can soften the flavour and soothe the mouth and throat for some people.

Balanced preparation

Slice a small thumb-sized piece of ginger, simmer it in 300 ml water for 8–12 minutes, then cool slightly before adding honey.

Important limits

Honey is not suitable for infants under 12 months. Ginger may not suit everyone, especially at concentrated doses or alongside certain medicines. Ask a pharmacist or clinician when unsure.

Pause before using

Check allergies, medicines, pregnancy, breastfeeding, age restrictions and whether symptoms need diagnosis. Stop if a reaction develops.
